CLIENT
About the client

CareLife Japan — one of the leading names driving care services in the country.

CareLife Japan Co., Ltd. is one of the countrys leading operators of care and welfare sites, supporting tens of thousands of staff and residents across day services, home care, nursing homes and group homes.

During the pandemic, watching over the health of staff and residents every day became the lifeline of the business. Tallying temperatures on paper and in Excel, and arranging vaccinations and hospital visits by phone and ledger, were crushing the front line. Together with Amela they built, from scratch, a health-management platform that unifies all of it.

CHALLENGE
Design problems to solve

The four structural requirements the platform had to meet.

None of these were questions of technology choice; they were business requirements tied directly to infection control, staff workload, resident peace of mind and head-office decisions. Building from scratch demanded a design that satisfies all of them at once.

Area ① Daily health records
Tallying tens of thousands of readings eats people and time

On paper and in Excel tens of thousands/day temperature results are tallied by hand, both the front line and head office carry a heavy load.

Area ② Early anomaly detection
Late reporting invites the infection to spread

If fever and symptoms are shared late, the risk of an in-facility cluster Risk of spread rises.

Area ③ Vaccination & visits
Arranging by phone and ledger causes double bookings and omissions

Arranging vaccination slots and hospital visits by hand means Double bookings and missed bookings easily arise.

Area ④ Head-office overview
Tallying sites one by one hides the overall picture

1,000+ sites are tallied one by one, head office cannot see the whole organisation at once.

ARCHITECTURE
The architecture we built together

Health management for care sites, on a foundation that never stops, across four areas.

Temperature entry, vaccination booking, hospital booking and facility statistics — all four built in-house from scratch. Staff enter daily from a phone, managers catch fevers by instant alert, and head office gathers infection status from every site via dashboard and CSV: front line, facility and head office all supported on one platform.
