
VeriTrip is a decentralized ID platform that verifies identity via passport IC NFC reading and facial recognition, then issues a cryptographically signed "Digital Travel Credential" to a smartphone wallet. At airports, hotels, and borders, identity verification is completed simply by presenting a QR code.

The Travel Authority is a public agency responsible for identity verification and travel procedures at airports, borders, and ports. Handling millions of travelers a year, it must constantly balance security and speed.
Identity verification that relied on paper passports faced challenges such as queues, forgery risk, and duplicated checks across agencies. So we set out to build, from scratch, a digital travel credential platform compliant with the international standard (ICAO DTC).
Because paper passports were checked one by one, by eye was checked, long queues formed at gates during peak hours.
Paper certificates were hard to detect tampering, and visual authenticity checks had clear limits.
Passports had to be handed over, so contactless identity verification was impossible.
At airports, hotels, and borders, the same check many times was repeated — a heavy burden on travelers.
We built, in-house from scratch and in line with international standards, a three-party trust model of issuer, holder, and verifier (self-sovereign identity). We designed the smartphone wallet, identity verification, credential platform, and verification terminal end to end.

With NFC reading and facial recognition, travelers can complete identity verification themselves.
With cryptographic signatures, verifiers can instantly judge authenticity.
With just a QR presentation, identity verification completes without any physical handover.
Disclose only the attributes needed for each use, preventing over-sharing of information.
