Regional Healthcare Network — Platform Build Story

Residents' health management,A mobile app linked with the cliniconward.

RegioCare is a Regional Healthcare Network digitalization solution consisting of a health management app for local residents and a patient management app for the local clinic. A React Native two-app setup integrating an e-questionnaire, pedometer sync, close-up photo logging (mole & skin tracking), and medication reminders, transmitting medical data securely with RSA encryption.

"Fragmented daily health data · no photo records · paper questionnaires · missed medication" — the story of launching a brand-new platform, built in-house from scratch in 11 months, that satisfies all 4 axes essential to community healthcare at once.

CLIENT
About the client

The "Regional Healthcare Network," at the core of community healthcare.

The Regional Healthcare Network is a medical community operator connecting local residents with clinics. Residents' health management was intermittent and visit-based, with limited means to continuously track daily lifestyle data and subtle physical changes. The clinic, too, lacked data for preventive care and early detection.

With the goal of "sharing residents' daily health data with the clinic to enable preventive care and early detection," we built an in-house digitalization solution for the Regional Healthcare Network. Using React Native, we developed 2 apps for residents and the clinic simultaneously on iOS / Android, transmitting medical data securely with RSA encryption.

CHALLENGE
Design challenges to solve

The four structural requirements demanded of the platform.

None of these were about technology choice; they were business requirements tied directly to residents' continuous health records, the clinic's early detection, data security, and medication adherence.

① Relying on daily health data only at clinic visits means missing changes

Judging health from a single monthly clinic visit alone,Subtle daily changes and warning signs go unnoticed.

② Leaving close-up photo management to individuals makes time-series tracking impossible

Leaving mole and skin photos to residents' personal camera rolls,Time-series comparison becomes difficult.

③ Transmitting medical data in plaintext leaves a data-leak risk

Sending and receiving questionnaire answers and health data in plaintext,Medical data leak leaves a serious risk.

④ Without medication reminders, seniors keep forgetting their doses

Seniors in particular frequently missed their medication,Reduced drug efficacy and worsening symptoms results.

ARCHITECTURE
The setup we built together

Turning community healthcare into a "platform that never stops" across four domains.

We built the Regional Healthcare Network's medical network platform in-house from scratch. Using React Native, we developed 2 apps — one for residents and one for the clinic — simultaneously on iOS / Android, with Redux state management, Firebase Analytics + AppCenter distribution, and JSEncrypt RSA encryption to protect medical data.

Domain ①
Daily health records
Challenge
Relying on daily health data only at clinic visits means missing changes.
Solution
Pedometer sync + daily health score logging
Automatically captured from the phone's step sensor, computing a daily health score to visualize trends
Domain ②
Close-up photo tracking
Challenge
Leaving close-up photo management to individuals makes time-series tracking impossible.
Solution
Manage by body area with a zoom-capable camera
Save mole and skin conditions by body area, review changes from last time over time, and share with the clinic
Domain ③
Medical data protection
Challenge
Transmitting medical data in plaintext leaves a data-leak risk.
Solution
All data protected with JSEncrypt RSA public-key encryption
Questionnaire answers, photos, and health data are all RSA-encrypted, decryptable only with the clinic's private key
Domain ④
Medication reminder
Challenge
Without medication reminders, seniors keep forgetting their doses.
Solution
Senior-friendly with push notifications + large-text UI
Notifications by time and by medication, one-tap logging of doses taken, with adherence rates visible to the clinic too

IMPACT
The value the platform creates

The Regional Healthcare Network's "preventive care" accelerates.

This platform delivers not technical metrics but continuous value: residents' ongoing health management, the clinic's early detection, medication adherence, and medical data protection.

① A platform enabling continuous health records

From intermittent, visit-only records to continuous daily records — residents' lifestyle data now informs medical decisions.

② A design that enables early detection

Track changes in close-up photos and health scores over time, so the clinic can detect warning signs early.

③ A setup that improves medication adherence

A senior-friendly large UI + push notifications sharply reduce missed medication.

④ A design that guarantees medical data protection

With RSA public-key encryption, residents' medical data is transmitted in a form decryptable only by the clinic.
