Challenge
Business challenges faced

Four business challenges that hinder growth.

After 10 years of operation, the legacy platform could no longer keep up with the growing scale of photography and the surge in access during event seasons, becoming an obstacle to business growth itself. It was not a technical problem, butA management challenge directly tied to revenue, customer satisfaction, and market competitivenesswas surfacing as such.

① Sales halted during peak season — chronic opportunity loss
During event seasons, traffic reaches access. On the legacy platform it frequently went down, and sales kept stopping during the best-selling season.
② Unable to sell on the day, ARPU doesn't grow
One sports day Over 5,000 photos Ingestion took several days. Products arrived after parents' excitement had faded, lowering both purchase intent and unit price.
③ Frequent drop-off mid-purchase — worsening completion rate and LTV
For a single purchase Over 800 photos Users had to check them one by one, and many gave up midway. It also failed to lead to repeat purchases.
④ The platform holds back growth — falling behind competitors on new features
Past 120 million records The monolith holding sales data could not move forward due to outage risk. New feature releases stalled, and the opportunity to differentiate from competitors was lost.

Transformation
Transformation achieved together

Toward the "next 10 years" across four areas, without stopping the business.

As a technology partner, AMELA redefined each of KidsAlbum's business challenges as a transformation from "before starting" to "the ideal state." After agreeing with both companies on the target vision, we jointly designed a solution leveraging an AWS-native platform and facial-recognition AI,Migration without stopping operationsPrioritizing this above all, we adopted a dual-run approach in which the old system and the new platform operated in parallel.

Impact
The change it brought to the business

KidsAlbum's business, toward the next 10 years.

After the renewal, service outages during peak seasons were eliminated and the purchase completion rate improved. As a business, they gained a scalable platform to support the "next 10 years" and a structure capable of continuously creating value.
