KuraShip is a cross-border e-commerce forwarding platform that gives overseas customers a dedicated warehouse address in Japan and completes purchasing agency, consolidated forwarding, and multilingual payments on a single platform. It supports international shipping to 32 countries.
Overcoming the cross-border purchasing barrier — "stores don't support international shipping, shipping costs are high, and parcel status is invisible" — built from scratch in-house in 9 months: this is a new-platform launch story.
Even when overseas customers want to buy Japanese products, many stores don't offer international shipping. Cross-Border Distribution Co., Ltd. launched a forwarding and purchasing-agency service to remove this "cross-border purchasing barrier."
Customers receive a dedicated warehouse address in Japan and shop at Japanese stores. Parcels are consolidated and inspected at the warehouse, then forwarded worldwide as combined shipments. From individual customers to businesses running cross-border e-commerce, the platform supports diverse usage patterns.
We treated these not just as technical issues but as business challenges tied directly to customer experience, cost, and operational efficiency, and translated them into the platform design.
Every step of cross-border purchasing is unified on a single platform. The customer-facing web app, operations admin console, and API were all built in-house from scratch, designed to handle everything from purchasing agency to international forwarding and billing end to end.
