Challenge
Before
Halal certificates were paper-based and prone to forgery and tampering, while supply chains lacked transparency. Consumers had no way to verify authenticity in-store, and certification bodies relied on manual issuance processes.
- Want to verify certificate authenticityPaper certificates can be forged and tampered with
- Want to trace origin and supply routeThe supply chain is opaque
- Want on-the-spot verification in-storeConsumers have no way to verify
- Want to streamline certificate issuanceCertificate management is manual
Solution
After
Hyperledger Fabric chaincode records Halal certificates and supply-chain data on a tamper-proof ledger. Strapi connects to the blockchain via the Fabric Gateway, and with the Next.js PWA consumers can trace products back to their origin with a single QR scan.
