None of these were technology-selection issues; they were business requirements tied directly to cost reduction, work style, delivery reliability, and document management. A greenfield build from scratch required a design that makes them all hold at once.

If you assume fax-machine installation, maintenance, and line fees,The more sites you add, the more fixed costs balloon. A mechanism independent of physical hardware is required.
Send and receive without being tied to a location
If you depend on the office fax machine,Can't send or receive on the road or at home, so work stops. A design that completes everything in the browser from anywhere is required.

If the delivery-confirmation mechanism is wrong,Not knowing whether it arrived, re-sending and phone confirmation become routine. A foundation that processes reliably and instantly visualizes status is required.
