EchoPin is a location-based voice SNS where users record and post audio tied to places and discover and play other users' voices by area or event. Posted audio is transcribed automatically.
The launch story of a new platform: a native iOS / Android app built in-house from scratch in 7 months, satisfying all four axes a voice SNS needs at once — discoverability, recording experience, retention, and community.
EchoPin focuses on the experience of “voice” — something text and photos cannot convey — and runs a location-based audio community business. From travel logs to street performances and messages to the future, it is a platform where diverse voices gather.
To deliver an experience that does not end at recording but lets voices “meet at that place,” we launched a location-based voice SNS from scratch.
None of these were about technology choices; they were business requirements tied directly to user experience, retention, and community vitality. Building anew from scratch required a design that made them all hold true at once.
We built all four domains — discoverability, recording experience, transcription, and community — in-house from scratch, combining a TypeORM API, native apps, and cloud speech recognition. The launch of a new voice SNS where voices meet by place.

This foundation delivers not technical metrics but ongoing business outcomes — user immersion, posting activity, and community growth.
