A domestic SIer centered on contract SI, building mission-critical systems for the manufacturing, finance, distribution, and public sectors. It runs 200 projects in parallel at all times, each composed of complex stages, milestones, and multiple roles (PM/QA/Sales).

As the number of projects grew, operations relying on monthly Excel aggregation and per-department reports hit their limit. Management needed real-time PMO visibility, PM/QA needed daily operational efficiency, and Sales needed a foundation to ensure hand-off quality.

Design challenges to solve

Four design challenges that hampered PMO operations.

Not as a technical problem, but asa management challenge tied directly to the responsiveness and data consistency of running a 200-project organization — framing it this way, we needed to design from scratch a platform that breaks free from dependence on Excel.

Monthly Excel aggregation took 5 days, so management could only ever see "last month's status"; responding to this month's risks in real time was impossible.
