The Welfare-Equipment Provider — platform build story
ℹ︎ For confidentiality, company and project names and system images are replaced with pseudonyms and mocks.

E-commerce and office management for welfare equipment,Built in-house from scratch.

CareSupply is an e-commerce site where offices order nursing and welfare equipment online, plus an operations platform that centrally manages corporations, offices, products and orders. Built around a ~1,000-item catalog, it digitizes ordering that once relied on paper and FAX.

Online catalog, per-office order consolidation, product master, and corporation/office permission management — the story of launching a brand-new platform, built in-house from scratch, that satisfies all four axes needed for B2B distribution of welfare equipment at once.

CLIENT
About the client

A leading domestic welfare-equipment provider driving the distribution of welfare equipment.

The welfare-equipment provider supplies a wide range of nursing and welfare equipment — wheelchairs, walkers, care beds, handrails, bathing supplies and more — to nursing offices and corporations. It handles over 1,000 items, and offices nationwide place orders every day.

Until now, ordering centered on paper catalogs, FAX and phone, and each office's order history tended to be scattered. A mechanism was needed to consolidate orders by corporation and office and keep product information up to date.

CHALLENGE
Design challenges to solve

The four structural requirements demanded of the platform.

None of these were about technology choices; they were business requirements tied directly to ordering efficiency, stock accuracy, customer satisfaction and operating load. A greenfield build had to be designed to satisfy them all at once.

Keep paper and FAX ordering and opportunity loss continues
Without putting the catalog online and creating a path to order directly from the cart,The effort of phone and FAX plus transcription errors becomes the norm.
Scatter orders and history cannot be traced
If the design to consolidate orders and history per office is wrong,Which office ordered what is invisible, so operations fall behind.
Rely on manual product info and freshness drops
Without centrally managing the price, stock and type of over 1,000 items,Gap between catalog and actual stock occurs, leading to ordering trouble.
Get the permission design wrong and anyone can place orders
If the design to separate corporation and office permissions is wrong,Unapproved orders and mixed-up information happens, and governance stops working.

ARCHITECTURE
The architecture we built together

Turning the welfare-equipment supply chain into a never-stopping platform across four domains.

We built four domains — e-commerce, order management, product master, and corporation/office management — in-house from scratch. The office-side storefront and the operator-side admin console are unified on a single platform, letting paper- and FAX-centric ordering move to digital.
